Question by Leo-bug’s mama: What is my baby’s mystery skin tenderness?
My seven mo. previous son is acquiring these wierd red rashy bumps. He obtained one particular on his wrist about 3 weeks ago- started out as a pale (lighter than his skin) very small “bite” seeking point, with red area all nearly the perimeter, and inside minutes turned “harder”, much more into a welt, and a red blistery issue appeared in the center. In days, there was a cluster of red blistery things in the center, and it just looked horrible and irritated. There also appeared at the same time on the same hand, a scaled-down one which by no means truly “blew up” like the other, just turned into a small red swelling, and now has nearly faded. He ran no fever, and did not appear to observe it, did not try out to scratch that I could see… We took him to his doc, they had five docs/nurses in the space and no one particular could say what it was. They took a tradition to see if it were viral, it came back again unfavorable. This thing got so unsightly that 2 days late I took him to the ER. That doc talked about flea bites or scabies- (yikes) but stated there have been bits and pieces about it that did not match with this diagnosis, like mother and dad did not have signs of it, and my cat and pomeranian are the two on frontline plus, so have no lice, and finished up rechecked to be certain- no indicators of lice. It is also significantly much huge than a flea bite, and “tough” to the touch, and when you push all nearly on it, the center will flip white as you are pushing, when you let go it is darkish red once again. And there was no way mom or dad had arrive into speak to with scabies!! We even bombed the home with bug bombs just to be point that nothing at all has bit him like a spider or a touch. We questioned food allergy, agreed that he lately started solids… but the docs say no, that there would probably be a full entire body rash, or at least partial logic rash, not just one or two welts. They gave him hydrocortisone which is supporting it fade… Then this morning I observed the very same issue start ( I swear, right just before my eyes, as I was bottle feeding him!!) on his right knee!!!! Exact same white dot with red all nearly, and now it is turning into a trying welt once more. I am so frightened!!! Just don’t realize what it could be, and the docs do not seem to know any! The diagnosis on the paper at the ER was “contact dermatitis”… Some speculation was infant excema…anyone experience nearly anything like this and may know what it could be? Or if any 1 has a child with excema, how does this rash normally appear when it starts to look? I googled it, but can learn no data. on what the preliminary sight of it is, if it is comparable to my son’s mystery skin conundrum. Of course on Monday we will be taking him back again to the doc, but if everyone has any info that may help me ahead of then get an thought of what this could be, I would really appreciate it! (Sorry for the super prolonged query!!) =)

My son had hives from an allergic reaction to Motrin. The doc is proper. If it was hives, then it would most probable cover his entire body. Scalp to toes. To me, the hives looked like melt away scars.
It seems to be like an insect bite. It seems like that is what it is specially when you stated that hydrocortisone cream helped.
I wouldn’t agonize also significantly about it. Your kid doesn’t seem to be bothered by it.
