Issue by Conrad M: Possible spider bite?
The other day I was outdoors in my ‘shed’. I was working in there and it is fairly clear. Carpetted, no dust and many others. Occasionally I see the odd, modest black/brown spider. But they have a tendency to dismiss me.
Nonetheless, right after a whilst I noticed my leg was started to itch and was all “prickly”, like something was on my leg. I pulled up my apparel to get a glimpse and there had been/are two raised red marks on the aspect of my leg. They are about one inch apart at most, and about 1cm across. It itched for a although. It has been >24 hrs now, and it doesnt seem to be to be reducing in marks.
At 1st I even though of the Wasp Spider, but was unsure what the bites appear like nor how much north they have gone (I like in the Midlands / East Anglia location).
Does anyone know what could have induced it?
2 “Bites”
1cm across every.
About 1 inch apart on my lower leg, just previously mentioned the ankle.

Unless you saw a spider bite you, it isn’t safe and sound to presume a spider bit you. Also, you’d be feeling the worst of the bite of a risky spider by twelve numerous hours previous the preliminary bite. The description of the wound you gave could have been caused by any number of issues triggering gentle infection or mild allergic reactions.
If you can give a photograph of the small black/brown spiders you pointed out before, I could try out to establish it for you.
By “wasp spider”, do you indicate the significant Argiope orbweavers that weave huge webs in gardens?

In your location, it would be species Argiope bruennichi

This internet site says they dwell largely on the southern coast, but can get as way north as Cambridge. If this spider bit you, you’d know quickly and the effects wouldn’t complicate more after an hour or two, and be constrained to mild swelling and nearby discomfort.
