I have a “bite” on the back of my leg, spider or mosquito and why does it have a 2″ red circle around it ?
Question by silly willy: I have a “bite” on the back of my leg, spider or mosquito and why does it have a 2″ red circle nearly it ?
I get spider and mosquito bites all the time. i’m 58 and have had many over the years. I just want to know if it is normal to get a red circle nearly it for about 2″ when i got the bite this morning. I have no insurance, so I try not to go to the dr. Is it normal for some bites to do this. Thanks

yeah its normal
it could be just the type of bite or it could be since its infected
try putting some peroxide on it or some other disinfectant.

For first aid, you can take some benedryl…same as taken for allergies. It is available over the counter, and not expensive. I found a touch called “chigger creme” for bites, that helps itchiness, but many aloe based creams or lotions can also be helpful. They usually treat the site with benzocaine, or a touch to numb it up.
I would keep an eye on the bite site…if it continues to flare up…with redness…or an abscess starts to develop…you may have a spider bite on your leg. This would get me to the doctor, as they can really be nasty if let go. A couple of ibuprofen may help with swelling, as well, if you are not allergic to them. And there is always ice…cheap and clean way to make it feel a small better.
Excellent luck with it.

I believe that is a sign of Lyme disease, if you mean a red area that makes a circle nearly the bite mark (rather than a huge red area that includes the bite mark). If the whole area is red, it might be just since you have scratched it, but if there is a very distinctive red circle (not filled in by red through and through) that is what I know to be a sign of Lyme Disease infection. You should look up lyme disease and see if the photos look like what you have or not.
I haven’t had Lyme disease but I know people who have, and it is best to get it tartan out and dealt with as soon as you can if that is what you seem to have. It can cause a lot of problems if you don’t.

that is the area of the infection. obviously? try some baking soda with water and make a paste or some benedryl tables or cream. you can also do some calidryl cream. I use any of the above bits and pieces and do not use medical facility unless I am failing.
